1st National Integrity Summit

The 1st National Integrity Summit was held on May 13 & 14, 2021 at the APEC Haus in Port Moresby. Over the two days the Summit brought together national practitioners and reformers to engage in structured dialogue and participants were informed of the latest approaches to strengthening national integrity.  The Summit was made possible with funding support from the European Union. [Click on the images to play the sessions]  Opening of the 1st National Integrity Summit & Launch of the NISA Report Keynote Speakers at the Opening Session included: Hon. James Marape, Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea Dr Silviu Jora, Deputy Head of EU Delegation to Papua New Guinea Peter Aitsi, Chair of Transparency International PNG. The opening session included the launch of the 2021 National Integrity Systems Assessment (NISA) Report for Papua New Guinea. Key findings of the NISA Report was presented by Mr Yuambari Haihuie, Deputy Director Partnerships & Policy. Panel 1 – Prosecuting Corruption Impunity for the corrupt is prevalent in Papua New Guinea, giving the impression that corruption pays. While the causes may be plentiful, and investigations done by different agencies, ultimately these corruption cases need to be brought to trial and prosecuted by the State.
