Transparency International is a global movement with one vision: a world in which government, business, civil society and the daily lives of people are free from corruption.

Through more than 100 chapters worldwide and an international secretariat in Berlin, we are leading the fight against corruption to turn this vision into a reality.

Transparency International’s mission is to stop corruption and promote transparency, accountability and integrity at all levels and across all sectors of society.

Transparency International’s core values are transparency, accountability, integrity, solidarity, courage, justice and democracy.

Transparency International Papua New Guinea is proud to be a chapter of Transparency International.

About Transparency International Papua New Guinea (TIPNG)

TIPNG is a chapter of Transparency International, a world-wide non-profit, non-government organisation dedicated to fighting corruption. TIPNG began in 1997 with the aim of combatting corruption in PNG and promoting transparency, honesty and accountability in public and private dealings. We are establishing provincial sub-chapters across PNG; we reach approximately 2.5 million people through our Community Coalition Against Corruption. We are a membership based organisation guided by a voluntary Board of Directors.

We believe that corruption is the abuse of power for private gain; it hurts everyone who depends on the integrity of people in positions of authority. We have the ability and experience to fight corruption in PNG – we work to educate and empower people by providing the skills and a voice to make an active choice against corruption. As advocates, we lobby to protect people and to reverse the consequences of corruption at all levels of PNG society.

Our vision and mission inform the way we engage and interact with our stakeholders. They also set the standards for our staff.
