immediate end to the reported media ban on the trial of the
bank robber William Kapris.
The anti-corruption organisation agrees with the assessment
of yesterday's editorial in The National that Mr Kapris is
nobody special before the eyes of the law, and therefore his
trial should not be shrouded in secrecy.

Paulias Matane has today launched the 2010 Sir Anthony Siaguru
Walk Against Corruption (WAC). This years Walk will be held
in Port Moresby, Kokopo, and Kimbe on Sunday the 6th of June.
For the launching His Excellency was joined by Transparency
International PNG (TIPNG) Chairman Mr Peter Aitsi and other
members of the TIPNG board.

collapse of the governments financial management systems and
the PAC reports clearly show a complete lack of accountability
within the public service.
TIPNG says that it is very sad to learn from the Public Accounts
Committee (PAC) that, from the 1,000 enquiries carried out
by the PAC into the operations of various government agencies,
hospital boards, and trust accounts most have not complied

19 November). The CPI is an international ranking of countries
by perceived levels of corruption drawing information and
